Live on Election Night

As the 2012 Presidential Election results unfold, members of the HWS and Geneva communities are invited to attend an Election Night party beginning at 7 p.m. in the Vandervort Room of the Scandling Campus Center.

“The 2012 election has seen myriad memorable moments, some trivial and some dealing with issues at the core of America’s sustained future success,” says HWS Votes Co-President David Luna. “Tuesday will be the culmination of this exciting season.”

Live coverage from numerous news networks will be broadcast continuously throughout Tuesday evening allowing students, faculty and staff to watch the real-time results of the “battleground states.” In addition, the party also promises food, games and prizes – as well as some appearances by “local celebrities.”

“As we gather in the Vandervort Room to digest the latest analysis and polling results, history will be made,” says Luna. “Come share this history with members of the community.”

HWS Votes helped more than 800 students register to vote or obtain absentee ballots for the election through its partnership with TurboVote. Other election initiatives by the student-run group included numerous election panels, screenings of both party’s conventions and the presidential debates, and a live debate with congressional representatives held on the HWS campus.
