Colleges Host West Street School 5th Graders

William Smith senior Amanda Bernard is a student teacher at West Street School with Mrs. Halling's fifth grade class. On Thursday, March 10, they visited the Sport and Rec Center, Odell's Village, Winn-Seeley Dance Studio and Gym-Theater, Saga for lunch, a chemistry lab in Rosenberg, and the College Store.

While in Winn-Seeley, the fifth graders participated in a dance class taught by members of Professor Cynthia Williams' DAN 432 Dance Teaching Methods class, where they learned movements from modern dance, jazz, ballet, and hip hop techniques. They also watched a performance of William Smith senior Emily Lutin's piece “Hip Hop Anonymous,” performed by Anna Burns '05, Anna Comerford '07, Alison Daly '06, and Joshua Warr '05. DAN 432 students included Daly, Tracy Genovese '05, Lutin, Aimee Poulin '05, and Warr.
