Gov. Pataki Nominates Hobart Grad to Supreme Court

According to the March 15 Finger Lakes Times, Gov. George E. Pataki has nominated Matthew Rosenbaum to serve as a Justice of the Supreme Court in the Seventh Judicial District. Rosenbaum is a 1986 graduate of Hobart College and received his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1989. He was nominated to fill the vacancy created by the recent retirement of Justice Donald Wisner. The seat will be filled for a full 15-year term in the November general election.

Rosenbaum has served as a Hearing Officer for the New York State Higher Education Services Corp. He is a son of Richard M. Rosenbaum, a 1952 graduate of Hobart College who served as a member of the Hobart and William Smith Colleges board of trustees from 1971 to 1989, including a stint as vice chairman, and as an honorary trustee since then.
