Waloven’s Movie is Part of Syracuse International Film & Video Festival

First-year Rob Waloven's film “Driven,” a 45-minute piece he scripted and filmed for a high school class, will be shown April 30 at the Syracuse International Film & Video Festival. The film is one of eight films that are part of “Young Filmmakers Showcase” that begins at 1 p.m. at the Everson Museum of Art.

Though on a $20 budget, the movie includes a realistic car-crash scene.

“It's about a man whose life is going well. Then his fiancée dies in a car accident. He tries to find an escape hatch. He has to determine whether to live on or give in,” says Waloven. He was featured in the April 24 Syracuse Post-Standard story “Student's Point of View.”
