HWS music professor Mark Manetta was remembered by both Chuck and Gap Mangione as well as other musicians and family in an article in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
“His solo on 'My Funny Valentine' is one of my all-time favorite guitar solos, period,” [Chuck] Mangione said. “Mark always played from the heart. His roots were in jazz, but he could cover all the musical styles. He was a strong rhythm player and a unique soloist. His playing was sensitive and at the same time adventurous.”
