Gina M. Perini ’95 has been named acting president and chief executive officer of SMS/800, Inc. Perini has been chief administrative officer and general counsel of SMS/800 since 2012.

Gary Sagnella, chair of SMS/800’s nomination and governance committee of the board of directors, is quoted in a press release, “As we develop our plans for 2014 and beyond, now is the right time to name Gina as SMS/800’s president and CEO on an interim basis. The company is executing well and Gina has a deep understanding of our business and strategic priorities. We are confident that Gina is the ideal candidate to continue SMS/800’s positive momentum during this transition period.”

Sagnella added, “Having Gina step into the role of acting president and CEO allows us the time required to identify the best candidate to lead SMS/800’s next phase of growth. We plan to begin the search process for a permanent President and CEO once our proposed board expansion has been completed.”

“This is a very exciting time for our company. I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of SMS/800’s business and the toll-free industry overall,” Perini said.
