Drennen on Wisconsin Public Radio show

Tom Drennen, HWS associate professor of economics, was a guest on Wisconsin Public Radio Aug. 1. He spoke with host Ben Merens on the Ideas Network program about the climate pact that the U.S. Department of State announced July 28.

The show was taped for archives and can be heard via Windows Media Player at

The pact to combat global warming is designed to develop energy technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Officials of the United States and Australia, the only developed nations outside the U.N.'s Kyoto protocol, have said the Kyoto agreement is flawed because it omits developing nations.

Some have expressed concern that the United States might be trying to lure China and India away from U.N. talks on widening the Kyoto pact to include developing nations.
