A mimosa brunch celebrating the Stewardson Society will be held on Saturday, April 5, to thank those members of the Classes of 2014 who have already made a commitment to the Colleges by pledging $20.14. Organizers also hope that the event will encourage the remaining members of the Senior Classes to join the Society. The event will take place on the patio of the café, or in the faculty dining room in the event of rain.
To date, approximately 58 percent of the Classes of 2014 have pledged. Senior Stewardson chairs Kelsey Landers ’14, Perry Ostheimer ’14, and Kieran Grogan ’14 hope to achieve 80 percent participation from these classes.
“By giving, each person is not only improving the quality of the Colleges for future classes, but they are also showing their gratitude and appreciation for everything the Colleges have done for us over the past four years,” says Landers.
Ostheimer echoes this sentiment, and notes it gives students an opportunity to give back however they choose. “When a senior makes his or her pledge, they can donate to anything at the Colleges – a specific department, sports team, HWS Goes Green, Global Education – anything! So it becomes very personalized.”
Members of the Stewardson Society are also invited to attend the Board of Trustees Networking Event on Thursday, April 24, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Vandervort Room of the Scandling Campus Center. A one-time donation of $20.14 is required to attend Stewardson Society events. Donations can be made at an event, or at http://www.hws.edu/srgift.
