Rawlins ’80, P’16 Joins PIR Series

Michael Rawlins ’80, P’16, the lead user experience architect for ESPN in Bristol, Conn., will return to HWS to meet with students about careers as part of the Professionals in Residence series hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career Services and Professional Development. Rawlins will hold one-on-one meetings between 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, in Trinity 109.

Along with being ESPN’s lead user experience architect, Rawlins also serves as the regional director of North America for the User Experience Professionals Association International (UXPA.org). He has led teams as the UX strategist at companies such as Cigna, Open Solutions/FiServ, MassMutual, Hartford Life and Aetna.

Rawlins also is an adjunct professor at Manchester Community College (MCC), and serves on a host of technology and industry boards, including the MCC Technology and Communications Advisory Board. He is a frequent professional speaker at User Experience Industry Conferences, as well Conferences in the Banking Industry like the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Strategic Growth Conference. He will be presenting at the 2014 UXPA Annual Conference in London in July.

Graduating from Hobart as a double major in history and fine arts, Rawlins actively participates in Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ PIR program. He also visited HWS last March as part of PIR, giving a talk about his career in the Sanford room.
