Dannenfelser’s adaptation of ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’ to be performed

A radio presentation of Washington Irving's classic, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” adapted by HWS Theatre Professor David Dannenfelser, will be performed on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Cranford, N.J.

This production will be performed by the Icarus Theatre Ensemble, based in Ithaca, at Union County College in Cranford. This live radio show will be recorded and played over the college's Web site and radio station.

Dannenfelser is Artistic Director for The Icarus Theatre Ensemble. A member of the HWS since 2001, he holds a BA in Special Education from William Paterson College, Wayne, N.J.; and master's degrees in educational theatre from New York University, and in directing and playwriting from Sarah Lawrence College.

His collection of one-act plays about New York City, “In Five Boroughs,” was produced by Expanded Arts in NYC in April 1999. His full-length play, “When Words Fail,” was produced with the Eponymous Theatre Company as a part of The New York International Fringe Festival in August 1998 and later at the John Houseman Studio Theatre in October 1999, and at The Ilium Theatre Festival in Ithaca in 2002.
