Dr. William Truswell '68 is a co-author on two new books, both published by Barnes and Noble and available through that Web site and others.
With Drs. Michael Byun and Jon Mendelsohn, he wrote “The Non-Surgical Facelift Book: A Guide to Facial Rejuvenation Procedures,” described as a guide to nonsurgical cosmetic facial procedures: botox injections, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, and collagen injections.
With Mendelsohn and Dr. Kriston Kent, he wrote “Your Complete Guide to Facial Cosmetic Surgery.”
After graduating from Hobart College with honors in chemistry, he received his medical degree from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and his general surgery training in Syracuse. Then he completed a dual residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
He is in private practice for facial plastic surgery in Northampton, Mass., and is medical director and co-founder of the Aesthetic Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center. He serves on the board of directors for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has also published numerous articles on facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in medical journals.
A believer in returning something to the community, he participates in Face to Face, the pro bono domestic violence program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has performed numerous reconstructive procedures for victims of domestic violence, erasing the physical evidence of beatings including scars, deformed noses and unset facial fractures.
