A Career in Arts PR, Marketing

Rebecca Taylor, vice president of FITZ & CO, will be speaking at Hobart and William Smith Colleges about her extensive career in public relations for the arts. Taylor has more than a decade of experience in arts communications. She has led campaigns at world-renowned museums, including the J. Paul Getty Museum and The Museum of Contemporary Art, and with MoMa Ps1, an affiliate of The Museum of Modern Art.

As part of the HWS Professionals in Residence (PIR) series hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education, Taylor will give her talk on Friday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. in room 112 at Houghton House. As a FITZ & CO vice president, Taylor heads the role as senior strategist, where she advises the New York and Los Angeles-based firm on global initiatives for the company and its clients. In addition, Taylor oversees the media and social media teams, advising the implementation of marketing, digital and public relations campaigns for clients around the world.

During her career, Taylor has lectured extensively on arts marketing, communications and social media, including international presentations in Argentina, Chile, Spain and Scotland. She also is a contributing writer to Khan Academy’s Smarthistory and The Huffington Post. She is a member of the International Council of Museums, American Association of Museums, Americans for the Arts and ArtTable; and also serves on several patron councils, including the Young Collector’s Council at the Guggenheim, the Junior Associates at The Museum of Modern Art and Creative Time’s Creative Council.
