Christian Coffin ’83 will discuss careers in hotel management as part of the Professionals in Residence series hosted by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 in Stern 201.
Coffin is the general manager of the Hilton Columbus Downtown. Opened in October 2012 in the heart of the Short North and Arena District neighborhoods, the hotel has quickly become a benchmark for hospitality and style in the city. Since joining Hilton Worldwide in 1998, Coffin has specialized in maximizing hotel operations and assets by surpassing financial, market and service expectations through strong analytical and organizational skills and his aggressive, hands-on leadership. In 2003 Coffin was appointed general manager cluster lead for 10 Boston area Hilton Hotels. His efforts and contributions to this group of properties were recognized when he was awarded “Cluster GM of the Year” in 2004 after initiating a number of innovative programs.
Coffin earned a master’s degree in hotel administration from Cornell University, following his graduation from Hobart College, where he remains active in Alumni Relations.
