William Smith College sophomore Alexandra Bird was named the Liberty League Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday, March 23rd. She led the Herons with 14 points in their two wins in Clearwater, Florida, the week of March 15th.
Bird logged 12 goals and two assists and added a ground ball and five draws last week. In a 15-8 win over Connecticut College, she tallied seven goals, matching the second highest total in a game in William Smith history. She added an assist, a ground ball, and won a team-high three draws. In a 17-15 win over Denison, Bird notched five first half goals as well as an assist and two draws.
Bird ranks second in the Liberty League in goals per game (3.60) and seventh in points per game (4.20). She leads William Smith with 21 points this season on 18 goals and three assists. She has added five ground balls, 12 draws and three caused turnovers.
