Hobart College sophomore Alex Grant and first-year Zach Felder were honored by the Liberty League Monday, March 23rd. Grant was named the Men’s Golf Performer of the Week while Felder garnered the Rookie of the Week award.
Grant and Felder tied for the team lead at the Myrtle Beach Shootout on Thursday. They finished five strokes off the leaders with a nine-over 81 at the Dye Course at Barefoot Resorts in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Grant was one stroke off his best round of the season, while Felder, who was playing in just his second collegiate tournament and first since September, improved his best round score by 11 strokes. They were tied for 13th place in a field of 30 golfers.
Grant has competed in 11 of 12 rounds this season and is third on the team with an 82.9 scoring average. He shot a season-low 80 in the Pitt-Bradford Invitational.
Felder is fifth on the team in scoring average at 86.5.
Hobart will be back on the links when it competes in the Hershey Cup, April 5-6, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
