Alumnus Marshall on ‘ER’ episode

Gary DeWitt Marshall '89 appeared briefly as Peter P.P. Perkins in the Jan. 5 episode of NBC-TV's medical drama “ER.” He played the victim of a stabbing, brought into the emergency department.

The episode, “If Not Now,” featured John Leguizamo, Mekhi Phifer, Mindy Nagra and Scott Grimes.

After earning his degree in sociology from Hobart College, Marshall joined the Steppenwolf Theatre Co. in Chicago and has appeared in “Renaissance Man,” a 1994 film directed by Penny Marshall; “In and Out,” a 1997 film directed by Frank Oz, as the voice of Yoda in the Star Wars movies and the voices of several Muppets; and “The Hurricane,” a 1999 film directed by Norman Jewison that told the story of Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, a former boxer imprisoned for murder.
