The William Smith College tennis team was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team and three Herons garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
The Herons were one of four Liberty League women’s teams to be named an all-academic team by the ITA. The award is given to any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letter winners are factored into the overall team GPA from the current academic year, which includes both the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters.
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, a student must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year and have been enrolled in their current institution for at least two semesters.
The following Herons were tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes:
Taylor Ferrari, So., Undeclared
Annie Venditti, So., International Relations
Haley Wolf, Sr., Media and Society
The Herons finished the 2014-15 season with a 9-9 overall record. Over the past decade, William Smith tennis has earned 30 ITA Scholar-Athlete Awards.
