Erica Connor, HWS Director of Conferences and Events, recently attended the Unique Venues Professional Enrichment Series on Sales and Marketing Action Planning at Florida International University in Miami.
She and others analyzed the college/university conferences and events marketplace, identified strategies and activities to increase sales and researched industry trends. Members then assembled formal sales action plans for their specific facilities.
She was joined by representatives from the Conference Center at Bentley, Hampshire College, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom; University of Colorado at Boulder, Illinois State University, Oregon State University, Huron University in London, Ontario; St. John’s University, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Vanderbilt University and Purdue University.
Unique Venues, founded in 1986, is a marketing company devoted to increasing the visibility of non-traditional venues in the conference and meetings industry.
