This month, Hobart and William Smith Colleges welcomed Russian chef Liliia Shkileva to campus as part of Sodexo’s 2015 Global Chef Program.
The month-long international chef residency provides an opportunity for Sodexo’s top chefs, like Shkileva, to travel to different countries and share authentic international cuisine with customers, staff and the local Sodexo dining teams.
Shkileva’s passion for cooking began during her childhood and she has dedicated herself to the culinary craft ever since.
During her time on the HWS campus, the Moscow-based executive chef interacted with students and faculty and demonstrated her techniques and expertise to the HWS culinary staff, preparing classic dishes from Russia and other European countries, including beet soup, Russian pancakes, delikatesnity, fisherman’s pizza, and panna cotta.
With the Colleges participating in the Global Chef Program, students, faculty, and staff also sampled foods Shkileva prepared at a student-oriented dinner on Thursday, Oct. 22, and the faculty and staff luncheon the following day.
Sodexo, which serves 80 countries across the globe and more than 15 million consumers at 9,000 client sites in North America alone, has run the Global Chef Program for more than a decade, offering firsthand cultural and educational exchange.
