The Office of Student Activities will host the spring Student Involvement Expo in the Vandervort Room of the Scandling Campus Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29.
From club sports and cultural groups to community service and work study opportunities, the event will showcase the clubs and organizations available for students on campus. Students will be able to sign up to participate in clubs and learn more about upcoming activities.
The spring expo follows the largest fall expo the office has ever hosted, with 124 clubs, organizations, and departments hosting tables. In addition, last spring Student Activities piloted a virtual expo component.
“This year we will have a combination of the two,” says Christine Lucht, assistant director of student activities.
In addition to the roughly 40 clubs tabling in the Vandervoort Room, the Spring Involvement Expo will use the smart phone app Corq, the HWS Collegiate Link app and online source for all clubs and organizations, so while students peruse the tables, they will also be able to use the app to join clubs and browse for more details.
With hot cocoa and hand warmers, Lucht expects the variety of options and the prospect of a new semester will “recharge everyone and get them exited.”
