Recent graduate Kendra Napierala ’15, MAT ’16 will discuss her experience working for Wediko Children’s Services as a part of the Professionals in Residence series presented by the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education.
Napierala’s talk will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4 in the Sanford Room at the Warren Hunting Smith Library. The following day, on Friday, Feb. 5, Napierala will be available for one-on-one appointments with students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Trinity 109. After graduating from William Smith with a BA in English and a minor in education, she worked at Wediko Children’s Service summer program in 2015 as a teacher and residential counselor, and will return to Wediko this summer.
Currently, Napierala is in the MAT program at Hobart and William Smith and will obtain certification to teach Secondary English.
Wediko Children’s Services, a non-profit organization, works with children who face repeated obstacles to development due to emotional, behavioral, environmental and learning issues. Through a continuum of flexible services and multi-disciplinary training programs, Wediko develops partnerships with children, families, schools and the community.
