Rick Hauser, assistant professor in architectural studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and principal at In. Site: Architecture, has been hired as a downtown revitalization consultant for the Village of Perry, in Wyoming County.
He will assist in planning a recreational corridor linking Letchworth State Park and nearby Silver Lake State Park.
Hauser’s background in revitalization includes a recent year-long commission as revitalization consultant and façade design consultant for Warsaw, NY, also in Wayoming County; as well as in founding and continuing to manage Perry Farmers’ Market and an annual New Year’s Eve celebration called Last Night Perry.
In 1998, Hauser founded and chaired a Task Force to adaptively re-use a former elementary school in Perry.
Hauser’s architectural practice works on a variety of built and theoretical projects linked by a contribution to sustainable design, including new construction, adaptive re-use, historic preservation and community revitalization.
