George F. Ruffner '67 was recently named Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore.
He previously served at the U.S. Embassy in Manila where, as Senior Commercial Officer in the Philippines from 1999 to 2002, he played a key role in implementing two of the Commercial Service's newest programs, Show Time and the Platinum Key Service.
After receiving a bachelor's degree in economics from Hobart College, he earned an MBA from Columbia University in 1969. After two years in the Army, he returned to Columbia's School of International Affairs and received a master's in international affairs in 1972.
He previously worked in United States consulates and embassies in Mexico City, Mexico; Santiago, Chile; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Milan, Italy.
