Klaus Lectures at Lycoming College

On Thursday, March 9, Eric Klaus, HWS assistant professor of German, gave a presentation on the uncanny in Gustav Meyrink's writings at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.

Meyrink was born in Vienna in 1868, was an author, dramatist and banker. Probably his best known books are “The Angel of the West Window” and “The Golem.” He died in Germany in 1932.

Klaus, who joined the faculty in 2001, holds a bachelor's degree in German from Dickinson College; a master's in Germanic Studies from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a doctorate in German Studies from Brown University.
