Cohler Internship and Travel Award announced

Caterina Saracino '07, an architecture and geosciences double major from Geneva, has been awarded the 2006 Eric Cohler Internship and Travel Award.

The Salisbury Center for Career Services and faculty from the Arts and Architecture departments recently announced the winner.

Saracino will be interning at Eric Cohler's New York City interior design firm for two weeks during the coming summer of 2006 and then spend 10 days over winter break in London, England, studying the integration of old and new architectural styles.

Saracino noted in her cover letter: “I am enthusiastic and dedicated about pursuing a career in architectural design with attention to interior design and restoration because of its limitless possibilities within the field of architecture.”

A 2003 graduate of Waterloo High School, she was president of the Architectural Society Club on campus in 2005 and is currently a semi-finalist for the Berkeley Prize in Architecture. She has been involved with the Day of Service and the Habitat for Humanity chapter.

The awarded is funded by Eric Cohler '81; his firm, Eric Cohler Design Inc., founded in 1991, specializes in interior design and restoration.
