Economist Galbraith dies at 97

Internationally known economist John Kenneth Galbraith, who received an honorary degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in June 1967, has died at the age of 97.

Galbraith also delivered the commencement address on June 11 of that year. A proud liberal, he advised Democratic presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt through Bill Clinton and retired from Harvard Unuiversity in 1975.
