The Rochester Biennial showcase at the Memorial Art Gallery includes prints from Phillia Yi of the HWS art faculty.
Summer exhibits are traditionally dedicated to the art of upstate New York. The second Rochester Biennial, an invitational show highlighting artists who live and work in the region, remains on view through Sunday, Sept. 10.
In addition to prints by Yi, this year's show features photographs by Carl Chiarenza of Rochester, paintings by Sydney Licht of Rochester, glassware by Michael Rogers of Honeoye Falls, quilts by Carol Taylor of Pittsford and sculpture by Allen Topolski of Rochester. The Rochester Biennial is sponsored by The Rochester Group and an anonymous donor.
The Memorial Art Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday — until 9 p.m. Thursday — and closed Monday and Tuesday. General admission is $7 except $5 for senior citizens and college students with ID and $2 for children ages 6 to 18 and free to members, UR students and children 5 and under.
