HWS Director of Theatre Robert F. Gross presented a paper at the 15th annual conference of the German Society for Contemporary Theatre and Drama, May 27 in Augsburg, Germany.
Ttitled “Postmodernism as Diversion: Len Jenkins' 'A Country Doctor,'” the paper dealt with American playwright Len Jenkins and his dramatic adaptation of Franz Kafka's tale, “Ein Landarzt.”
A longer version of the paper will be published in the Proceedings of the Society next year.
Gross, who is also a professor of English, joined the faculty in 1987. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, a master's in theatre from Ohio State University, and his doctorate in comparative literature-theatre from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
