Beverly Ilacqua, director of the HWS Program Management Office for IT Services, participated in a Web seminar, “Anytime, Anywhere Learning and Computing,” on Wednesday, June 14, hosted by EdTech: Focus on Higher Education.
Her fellow panelists were Dr. Dennis A. Trinkle, associate vice president for academic affairs, chief information officer, and Tenzer University Professor in Instructional Technology at DePauw University in Indiana; and Dr. Rayton R. Sianjina, professor of instructional technology and director of distance education and learning technologies at Delaware State University in Dover.
The three discussed how to overcome the challenges of implementing one-to-one computing on campus; enabling ubiquitous computing, adding computing power, getting buy-in, funding and support from administration and faculty.
Ilacqua has more than 23 years of experience in information systems. She introduced and managed programs and initiatives including the student computer laboratories, the Help Desk, an institutional computer replacement program and student computer purchasing programs.
