Paul A. Passavant, assistant professor of political science, has had three articles published recently. “Laws and Societies,” with colleague Jodi Dean as co-author, was part of a symposium on Judith Butler published in volume 8 of the journal Constellations. “Governing Sexuality: The Supreme Court's Shift to Containment,” appeared in the book Between Law and Culture: Relocating Legal Studies (University of Minnesota Press, 2001) edited by David Theo Goldberg, Michael Musheno, and Lisa Bower. His essay “Enchantment, Aesthetics, and the Superficial Powers of Modern Law,” appears in volume 35(3) of the Law and Society Review, the official journal of the Law and Society Association. Passavant has returned to HWS from a leave in which he was a Visiting Fellow at the Birkbeck College School of Law (University of London).
