The California Avocado Commission has named Stacy R. Jaffa '92 as its marketing director. She will be responsible for leading the organization's strategy to promote California- and Hass-branded avocados in the U.S.
Jaffa will develop marketing programs for consumer, trade, food service, on-line, public relations and nutrition functions. The avocado commission — and the 6,800 growers it represents — have seen consumption of avocados increase from 500 million pounds five years ago to more than one billion pounds this year.
She joins the commission staff from Paramount Farms, where she developed and executed brand marketing programs for consumer and trade markets. She has more than 10 years' experience as a senior marketing and communications executive with national and regional companies.
After receiving her B.A. in English at William Smith, she earned a M.A. in communications management from the University of Southern California.
