Linton speaks on Behring legacy

Derek S. Linton, HWS professor of history, delivered a brief talk on the scientific legacy of Emil von Behring, the first Nobel laureate in medicine, and signed copies of his Behring biography June 22 at the corporate headquarters of the ZLB Behring pharmaceutical firm in King of Prussia, Pa.

The activities were part of the celebration marking the 20th anniversary of Humate P, the only drug approved by the FDA to treat severe cases of Von Willebrand's disease, the most common hereditary blood coagulation abnormality in people.
