Richard W. Pound of Montreal, chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency, who spoke at HWS in April, was quoted in a story about the Tour de France in the Aug. 7 issue of Time magazine.

Pound is the author of “Inside the Olympics: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Politics, the Scandals, and the Glory of the Games,” published in 2004, as well as several legal texts. A Canadian lawyer, he is a member of the Quebec and Ontario provincial bars, has been chancellor at McGill University in Montreal since 1999, and chaired its board of governors for five years before that.
He swam in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, the 1962 Commonwealth Games, and has been inducted into the Canadian Swimming Hall of Fame and the Canadian Amateur Athletic Hall of Fame. He has been a member of the IOC since 1978.
