Santi ’99 receives literary grant

Alexis Santi ’99 has received a grant from the Romanian Cultural Institute to translate Romanian literature into English. He was one of two U.S. citizens chosen for the award based on an international competition.

Currently working on a Master of Fine Arts degree at George Mason University, Santi is also pursuing literary efforts closer to home, founding the online literary journal this past summer. The site features work from other alums, including Christian McLean '00 and Peter Syverson '01 while Joshua Campbell ’99, serves as assistant editor.

Santi majored in English during his time at the Colleges. He was a member of the Orange Key Honor Society, Chi Phi fraternity and served on the search committee that eventually recommended current Colleges President Mark D. Gearan.
