Laird, summer students present research

Neil Laird, HWS assistant professor of geoscience, and three summer research students gave presentations on their work at first Oswego State Meteorology Conference, Oct. 14-15 at State University College at Oswego.

Their presentations discussed several aspects of winter storms associated with the Finger Lakes, the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain.

Student presenters who participated in the 2005 and 2006 summer research programs were Jason Cordeira of the University at Albany, Natasha Hodas of Cornell University and Melissa Payer of Plymouth State University.

Laird, who joined the HWS faculty in 2004, holds a bachelor's from SUNY-Oswego and his master's and doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
