Perkins speaks in London

Wesley Perkins, HWS professor of sociology, was an invited speaker Oct. 19 at a conference sponsored by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

The conference invited 10 researchers from the United Kingdom and the United States to talk about their theories and current research on health promotion and behavior change.

Perkins spoke about his work on misperceived social norms and the promotion of accurate perceptions of peer norms to reduce risk behaviors.

A member of the Colleges faculty since 1978, he holds degrees from Purdue and Yale universities.
