Dr. Darrick Antell ’73, an internationally renowned plastic surgeon in Manhattan, recently received an Alumni Community Award from the Medical College at the University of Toledo. A biology major and Kappa Alpha brother at HWS, he earned a doctorate in dentistry in 1978 from Case Western Reserve and then his medical degree.
Antell was honored for donating his skills to help residents of Ecuador, Mexico and Haiti through Interplast, a group of doctors dedicated to providing free reconstructive surgery for residents of developing nations. The group has worked with Operation Smile, repairing patients’ congenital deformities or injuries.
He has also endowed a scholarship at HWS for students interested in the medical field.
