Mike Black, manager of WEOS-FM, the Colleges' radio station since 1988, is one of 10 people nominated for the 2007 Radio Wayne Award as General Manager of the Year. This is the second time Black has been nominated for the honor.
Radio Ink magazine founded the Radio Wayne Awards in 1992 to honor those salespeople, managers, and broadcasters who have committed their careers to excellence in radio.
The awards are named in honor of “Radio Wayne” Cornils, one such career broadcaster who not only had a passion for the industry, but continually did whatever he could to make it a better place for all to work and prosper. In addition to being a small-market broadcaster, Cornils was senior vice president of radio at the National Association of Broadcasters and executive vice president of the Radio Advertising Bureau.
