‘Long Christmas Dinner’ offered in Ithaca

Two performances of “The Long Christmas Dinner,” by Thornton Wilder, directed by David Dannenfelser of the HWS Theatre faculty, for The Icarus Theatre Ensemble, are planned on successive Sundays in Ithaca.

The show will be presented as a part of the festivities from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art on the Cornell University campus. The play will be staged at 1:30 p.m.; the afternoon will continue with other performances by local musical and vocal groups. Refreshments will be available; for details, call (607) 255-6464.

One week later, the show will be presented starting at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 17, at the Community School for Music and Art in downtown Ithaca. This second performance will also be a part of a larger holiday celebration. For details on it, call (607) 272-1474.

Dannenfelser, who joined the HWS faculty in 2001, holds master's degrees in Directing and Playwriting from Sarah Lawrence College and in Educational Theatre from New York University, as well as a bachelor's in Special Education and Elementary Education with New Jersey state certification from William Paterson College.
