Arner Presents on English Rising of 1381

Lynn Arner, assistant professor of English, presented a paper titled
“Unwrapping the Gift: Bourdieu, Gower, and The English Rising of 1381” at “Medieval Literature, Languages and Culture: A Symposium in Memory of Professor Margaret Schlauch (1898-1986),” held at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, May 12-15, 2002. Margaret Schlauch was a reknowned American scholar of medieval English literature. A former professor at NYU, Schlauch fled the U.S. and moved to Warsaw because she was persecuted under McCarthyism.
