Perkins is keynote speaker at conferences in Britain

Wesley Perkins, professor of sociology, recently spoke in Britain at three conferences focused on reducing risk behavior among youths.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, he gave the keynote address, “Using Normative Approaches to Promote Health and Well-being,” at a conference on youth sponsored by the National Children's Bureau in London.

The following day, he spoke on “From Theory to Practice: a Social Norms Approach to Promoting Emotional and Social Development and Health and Well-being,” at the Personal, Social and Health Education Conference titled “Is Everyone Doing It?” sponsored by the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health in Sheffield.

Perkins also presented a day-long “Master Class for Practitioners Working with Children and Young People” about the social norms approach, sponsored by the National Children's Bureau in London on Friday, Dec. 8.
