In response to a report on board accountability published by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB), Trustee L. Thomas Melly '52, LHD '02 discussed challenges facing those who serve on boards of trustees in a recent story in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Melly was chairman of the HWS Board of Trustees from 1988 to 1998, and has been on the board for more than 25 years, longer than anyone currently serving.
He was recently elected chair of AGB, the only national association that serves the interests and needs of academic governing boards.
