Charlotte Rahn-Lee’s Play Named a Winner

Charlotte Rahn-Lee, daughter of Cherry Rahn and Steven Lee, professor of philosophy, was featured in the June 6 Finger Lakes Times story “Winning play lands Geneva grad trip to NYC.” Rahn-Lee, 18, is one of seven winners of the Young Playwrights National Playwriting Competition. More than 1,100 entries were submitted by students 18 years old and younger. Her one-act play, “All that We See or Seem,” looks at reality and non-reality, and whether people can tell the difference. A teen-age boy is the main character who is influenced by what Rahn-Lee described as “his crazy friend and crazy sister.” Rahn-Lee will attend a nine-day Young Playwriters Conference in New York City that will focus on playwriting development and end with staged readings of the winning plays.
