Physicist completes residency at research institute

In March, Donald Spector, the Phillip J. Moorad '28 and Margaret N. Moorad Professor of Science and Chair of the HWS Physics Department, completed a 10-day residency at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara, Calif.

During his time there, Spector completed work generalizing the notion of shape invariance to models that extend quantum mechanics in ways consistent with string theory. He was named a KITP Scholar by the Institute in 2005.
