A new closing date has been scheduled for “The Midnight Disease, by artist Heather Willems, which is on display at Houghton House through Thursday, April 19.
Willems will speak about her work from 5 to 6 p.m. that day; a closing reception is planned from 6 to 8 p.m., both also in Houghton House. Both events had been planned for the following day. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
“The Midnight Disease” is a part of the current exhibition, Absence/Excess/Loss, at the Rochester Contemporary Art Gallery on East Avenue in Rochester. The group exhibition of installation-based work considers how the process of repetition informs memory and melancholia and how the creation of repeated objects relates to the act of mourning.
