Perkins also recently spoke about the social norms approach to school groups in three states. He was an invited guest speaker — addressing the social norms approach to promoting health and well-being among middle school and high school students — before groups of teachers, administrators and parents.
He addressed local and national patterns of misperceived norms regarding alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse and about bullying among students and the importance of addressing these misperceptions for the Catalina School District in Tucson, Ariz., in late February; the Hopewell Valley School District in Pennington, N.J., in mid-April; and the Hilton Central School in Hilton, N.Y., later in April.
