Lauren Baran '09 has been named Resident Assistant of the Month for October 2007 by the Office of Residential Education.
She embodies the leadership skills and spirit that Resident Assistants at HWS strive to achieve and is dedicated to creating a positive environment for students living in a variety of small houses including Brent, Stucco, 121 Hamilton and 295 Pulteney.
Baran, an international relations major, shines as a leader among her peers in going beyond her job responsibilities. Since the beginning of the year, she has proven her dedication to her residents by embracing the themes in her small houses including the Asian Language House, Creative Arts House and the Multicultural Awareness House. She has consistently assisted these residents with their theme-related programming efforts: helping residents create personalized tablecloths and house banners, decorating the house for the fall season and organizing a pumpkin-carving contest.
Her hard work, positive attitude and enthusiasm for her position are evident through her interactions with other staff members.
