Ikle choreographs works at Middle Tennessee State University

Assistant Professor of Dance Michelle Ikle recently choreographed a dance titled “Crossing Guard” at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

The 40-dancer program was staged Thursday, Nov. 29, Friday the 30th and Saturday, Dec. 1, along with student-choreographed works. Some of the dances are scheduled to be taken to the American College Dance Festival's regional gathering at the University of Florida in March.

Ikle, who joined the HWS faculty in 1995, earned a bachelor of arts special majoring in Preparation for Dance Teaching and Performance at State University of New York at Buffalo, and an MFA in Dance Science and Somatics from State University College at Brockport. She is a certified instructor and teacher trainer in East-West Somatics from the Institute for Movement Education and Therapy.
