Three WS students aid Girl Scout event

Three William Smith students — Cynthia Okerfelt '08, Abby Slowik '08 and Delvina Smith '09 — were pictured in the Thursday, Nov. 16 edition of the Finger Lakes Times, talking about their experiences as Girl Scouts at the “College Life 101” program.

In association with HWS, the Girl Scouts-Seven Lakes Council has received a grant from The MetLife Foundation to implement the Girl Scouts’ innovative “College Life 101 program.

Funding allows the Girl Scouts to bring 100 girls in grades 7-12 to the Colleges for a one-day workshop on subjects including career information, writing college essays and the financial aid process. College Life 101 has been held twice on the HWS campus: once in March and once in November.
