Alumnus Blood’s firm sues Dannon

Timothy G. Blood ’87, an attorney with Coughlin, Stoia, Geller, Rudman and Robbins in San Diego, Calif., recently filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Dannon Co., claiming that its DanActive and Activia yogurt products do not provide the healthful benefits claimed in the commercials.

Dannon stands by the products and says the benefits claimed are supported by peer-reviewed scientific research.

Blood, an economics major who graduated cum laude, completed honors and was a Resident Advisor and a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. He earned his law degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University.

A story on the lawsuit was featured on ABC-TV and was carried by Reuters.
